This book - Science, Technology, and Society A Progressive Approach to Humanity is divided into 8 Chapters. The first chapter introduces the concepts of Science, Technology, and Society. The first chapter discusses the scientific method and the importance of science as an endeavor. The second chapter focuses on the relationship of STS in society as a means for progress. This chapter discusses the idea of Good Life, the relationship between technology and life as well as its importance in building a nation. The third chapter focuses on the events of science and our country Philippines. This chapter traverses the history of the Philippines concerning science and technology. The fourth chapter will connect technology and humanity which includes the topics about the Digital Age and nanotechnology. The fifth chapter will dive into the world of genetics, diseases, and the utilization of genetic engineering in curing/treating diseases. The sixth chapter will tap on the global concern of climate change, the process, causes, effects, and its relation to the energy crisis. The seventh chapter digs deeper into the concepts of energy crisis and the alternative energy sources the world and the Philippines can tap into. The last chapter will touch on the concepts of biodiversity, biodiversity, and humanity, how humans affect biodiversity, and environmental awareness.
A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Master of Arts in Education Major at St. Mary’s College of Tagum, Inc. He was also one of the topnotchers in the September 2018 LET. He is currently a full-time faculty of the SHS Program handling sciences and research subjects and a part-time faculty in college teaching General Education subjects of the same institution. He is also actively volunteering and advising two non-government organizations - CoExister Philippines that promotes Peace and Youth Service Philippines with several advocacy. His current goals include research publication as well as building a portfolio in research, ethics in research, and research statistics.
He earned Bachelor's Degree in University of Southeastern Philippines, Tagum City in 2014. He continued his Master's Degree in University of the Immaculate Conception, Davao City with CHED Scholarship. He is now writing his Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics - Dissertation in University in Mindanao, Davao City.
Dr. Princes Luise C. Dela Tina graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education major in Biological Science at St. Mary's College of Tagum, Inc. in 2015 and earned her master's degree in Teaching Science at the same Institution. She finisheD her PhD in Science Education with a concentration in Biology in Bukidnon State University's graduate program (BukSU). Her dissertation is entitled "Distribution of the Lichen Flora in Mt. Candalaga, Davao de Oro: Basis for Development of Instructional Module for Biology Teaching." Dr. Dela Tina's field of interest is quantitative research, experimental research, and lichen species' biodiversity. She presented her research in international research conferences. Dr. Dela Tina has also served as a research adviser and data analyst.
